Álfheiður Marta (Marta) is a Reykjavík-based director working across scripted drama, non-scripted series, and high-end commercial storytelling.

She has directed commercial campaigns for clients such as Icelandair, TM Insurance, Landsvirkjun Energy, and The Bank of Iceland, as well as public service campaigns for the Pink Ribbon and Cancer fund, earning multiple nominations at the Icelandic Advertising Awards.

She recently directed the drama series Death of a Horse (Act4 / Windlight Pictures) for RÚV and ZDF, currently in post-production. In 2023, she directed two episodes of the Nordic noir series Black Sands II (Glassriver) for Sýn, distributed internationally by All3Media.

Álfheiður Marta was nominated Director of the Year at the Icelandic TV Awards in both 2023 and 2024.
